Cool Nerd Queen Kachingler

I have a new job – adding this one to the others I am already doing. How I got that one? As always: by a lucky accident!

All started with an email exchange with Kachingle. At that point I only knew the basics about this company: “Social cents for the open web”
What you need to do it pretty easy, signing up and starting kachingling. In the past you needed to install a medallion on your page, now you can kachingle anything you want with the browser extension:

  • You voluntarily pay $5 per month via PayPal or credit card
  • You say which content providers you want to support (one click of the Kachingle widget is all you need to do)
  •  They count how often you use your supported sites all month long
  • At the end of the month they give the money to the supported sites based on how often the user visit each one
  • Twitter followers and Facebook friends can automatically hear about the sites you love and how much money was sent
  • It’s hassle-free: Sign up once, and click on each site once, then Kachingle does the rest!
  • Kachingle keeps 15% of the revenue which it shares with PayPal using special PayPal pricing and low-cost APIs

Though Kachingle combines the power of loyalty, the influence of social media and the flexibility of micropayments to generate a whole new revenue stream for free content. It is changing the way of thinking. In a good and social way.

Personally I am using I too – so far I have received over 20$. I will surely not getting rich because of using it, but it is a very good feeling, that people appreciate, what I am writing.

So I have exchanged emails with them, I had a few questions about the medallion and the verification of it. They answered me rapidly and a very nice conversation started. Very soon we figured out, that they are looking for community managers and also somebody for the social media stuff and that I would do both happily for them, because I am excited by the concept of it.
In the end I had a Skype interview with the Chief Kachingler Cynthia, who is also the founder of this great company. I told her my ideas and thoughts – and she liked it! So I became more or less instantly part of Kachingle.

I have plenty of ideas and all the freedom I want, to try things out. They are encouraging me to do things, supporting me and giving me always their two cents in a great way. And they are so cool and lots of fun. Cynthia is calling me constantly a “cat person” – she has among other animals a dog, Bunny, who is the Chief Canine Kachingler of the company.

After I signed the contract, we discussed what kind of title I should have from now on. They told me, I can be whatever I want to be. So don’t be surprised that my new title is now

Social Media Marketing Specialist Kachingler AND Cool Nerd Queen Kachingler

I am sure, this is saying enough about this great company. Form the job perspective: I feel very welcome, can improve ideas, try things out, share ideas, get an answer in between a couple of hours – some of them apparently are never sleeping. The reply time of my questions, issues, ideas, information is very short and lots of fun. It is not bothering me to receive tons of mails daily; actually I am more concerned if I don’t.
Imagine this:  Saturday 10/15 I will speak on a PodCastBarCamp held in Austria about Kachingle – online via Skype. I am flattered kachingled of the trust of them in me!

Another great thing is the philosophy of the company: it is based on respect. The CEO of Kachingle, Fred Dewey is singing all of the intern mails with the word LOVE:

In case I didn’t already tell you this… I sign my emails with “Love”, based on my management philosophy which is called Love-Based Leadership (LBL), which is leadership/management that is based on love (respect, appreciation, empowerment, seeing the value in people, accountability for results, and win-win), rather than based on fear (manipulation, domination, micromanagement, win-lose). So don’t be surprised when you see that signature. You can read more about LBL and order the book about it here: http://lovebasedleader.blogspot.com/.
It is one of the ways that I reinforce my management philosophy with myself and everyone on the team. (It is pretty hard to press Send on an email where I am disrespecting the recipient or treating them in a fear-based manner, if I am signing it with the word Love. So it helps to keep me on track, and hopefully also rubs off on the rest of the team, since this is part of the culture we are building here at Kachingle).

And I enjoy and LOVE all of that from the very bottom of my heart!
